Someone gave me a compliment and reached out and squeezed my hand and I fell in love and couldn’t speak for several minutes

I was just gonna type this in the tags but I have to say this.

Growing up in North America is surreal.
Every tiny little blip of physical affection is deemed as sexual interest.
Boys aren’t allowed to hug eachother because “that’s gay.”
Girls can’t hold hands because “are they going out?”
And GOD FORBID a female friend hugs a male friend.

Having lived in the Netherlands, and reading up about shit like this, Canadians and Americans are starving.

I went to Japan for a school trip in 2012. I went to a highschool there.
There were boys hugging, lounging on those blue gym floor mats, holding hands, trowing their arms around eachother.
I was startled by how shocked I was.

This mentality of “if you’re touching you must have sexual interest in the other person” is so fucking disgusting. Hug your friends. Hold hands with them. Touch their hands when you want to reassure them.

my entire attitude towards nick fury has shifted completely and i’m so glad. like yah he was a badass before but now that we canonically know he’s the absolute softest person in the room, its so much better. he swooned over a cute kitty. he immediately acknowledged that it meant a lot to him that carol came back to save him even tho he had sorta sold her out. he instantly had sympathy for the skrulls and when talos was injured, called him “friend” despite knowing him for such a short amount of time. after seeing what an amazing pilot maria was, he offered her a position at shield w no hesitation. he took in the space cat that blinded him in one eye and let her stay in his office. he basically named the avengers initiative after carol. i’m just??? he’s a sweetheart and i love it.

It also means that his dark and edgy facade that has been established over the past decade is really just him trying to look cool and not admit he lost his eye to a cat and thats the funniest shit ever

Picking up the the knowledge and wisdom and her intelligence has lead to building her way up and becoming a leader with experience. Now with all these surviving skills she can strategize and be steps ahead – like a true Gemini.
Cancer – Cersei Lannister
A character that is quite complex and through whom we can see how feisty a Cancer can be. As I said her character is complex and at times unforgiving (a Cancer always remembers and clings), she is a character that would do anything for her family, especially her children. There is nothing more greater that a mother’s love and Cersei is proof of that. She also takes care of her loved ones, those are her world, her kingdom.
Leo – Tyrion Lannister
Charming, enchanting presence with charisma to be quite honest, quite Leo qualities, he carries the true Lion qualities of a great heart (in comparison to his other family members) but as well as keen intellect. He is amazing at strategizing, leading from the shadows, but he is not a coward on the contrary he has proven his courage, his experience and knowledge of the existence of people such as Cersei, Joffrey etc has made him re-think everything twice. Sharp as a knife, he also has the humor to go with providing a warmer situation among all of the tension.
Virgo – Brienne of Tarth
Dedicated, loyal, noble, always follows her oaths through, organized, someone very dutiful and inspiring. Logical and righteous – just like a Virgo. Her skill as a warrior also shows us that she has mastered it, like a Virgo would – they are kind of perfectionists and they do that by following each detail perfectly and learning it easily just like Brienne has. Despite her criticism she has proved her skills and herself.
Libra – Margaery Tyrell
Witty, diplomatic, charming, even manipulative at times will show you her Libra nature immediately. Her beauty and pleasant presence are undeniable as well as her genuine wish to become queen. She has the diplomacy, she has the skills, the wits, the patience and is someone who would’ve fought to keep the balance and inner as well as outer peace. Fair, principled as well as empathetic.
Scorpio – Arya Stark
I was wondering if I should put Arya as Aries or Scorpio, but Arya is someone who is more calm, someone with a certain darkness and an ability to carry out a strategy, someone who is quite mysterious upon meeting and intriguing – I guess the strategic, planning part of Mars was leading me to be indecisive but I definitely saw Scorpio and Plutonian tendencies more. She is an avenger, she never forgets and forgives, family is the most valuable thing to her and she’s lost a bigger part of it, especially her father whom she loved and looked up to so much. Strong, iron-will (Scorpio’s part of Mars), her sword is basically a needle with which she stings (Scorpio). She has experienced many depths of pain and has come back, she is ready to go through it all for her family.
Sagittarius – Jamie Lannister
His loyalty to his family and the name it carries, Lannister is undeniable. But Jamie has always been a more free-spirited Lannister than his family, someone who keeps promises, someone who explores, someone who knew what he wanted and that was to fight. Someone who can weigh right from wrong, even if his decision is something to benefit Cersei, or the name Lannister. An adventurer and someone who is not tied to traditions and stigmas. Jamie can also be seen to follow his fiery, Sagittarius instincts. Also bluntly honest.
Capricorn – Jon Snow
With integrity, loyal, dedicated, honourable, with a heart of gold. Fierce, determined, committed, a hard-worker – he embodies the strength and seriousness a Capricorn has, how seriously they approach things and issues. He has a thick skull as an earth sign – Capricorn would, but also a heart of gold. All of these qualities have made him be recognized as a leader, a true leader not a boss or a king just to through a title in there.
Aquarius – Lady Melisandre

Oh god, finally someone said it. Every time I see words like “jihadist” I want to scream, but I’m not Muslim, so I wasn’t sure I should say anything.

Jihad means struggle. It doesn’t mean holy war or anything like it. In fact, there is no word in Islam for holy war, because the nature of Islam does not leave room for holy war. Islam has a juridical system, not a Pope who can just say “Go wage holy war.” Conflating the personal nature of jihad with violence is so very gross and it needs to stop. Period.

Actually, there’s another word non-muslims in the media shouldn’t use:

Allahu Akbar. It’s not a statement of terrorism. It means “god is great”. It’s something we say to praise our lord. It’s what we say when we pray. It’s not a statement of terrorism. Allahu Akbar doesn’t mean terrorism stop using it as one
